re: ROAD ICE HAZARDS — A SNOWPLOW DRIVER’S VIEW

“Then the second worst thing is the falling ice off all of your towers…”

Having maintained some Mt. Wilson radio stations in the past, I learned rather quickly to stock hard hats at ALL of our sites to wear in sunny weather after any recent precipitation that may have formed ice on ours, or nearby towers. This revelation followed an 8-foot icicle crashing into our driveway a few yards from my car as I drove in one morning, after blowing in my direction from a structure next door. It may be uncomfortable (or unfashionable) to wear a hard hat at times, but could just save your life. With the proliferation of mobile device-distracted drivers, I highly recommend them for the car, too. They are way more cost-effective than long-term hospital care, or funeral arrangements.
