Dear Broadcasters:

The Broadcast 33kV Reconstruction Project Update:

The contractor has begun to pull wire from the Gould Substation sight up towards Red Box on the Broadcast 33 KV.  This section should be completed by the end of the month if all goes well and should allow us to energize the clear creek ranger station.  The section of line from Red Box up to Mt. Wilson is still under environmental review for the spotted owl.  The spotted owl nesting survey will be completed at the end of May and we should have direction from environmental at the beginning of June.

We had a job walk for the Red Box 16 KV rebuilt on May 19 at the Monrovia S/C.  The bids are due back June 4th.  The start date for the rebuild is no later than July 6th with a completion date of September 7th.  The only consideration for extending the date is environmental delays or delays caused by SCE such as material delays.  This is an aggressive schedule but that's how the bid is written.

I will update you again around mid July.

Please let your us know if you have any questions.
